One-point perspective projects

5th and 6th grade one-point perspective projects.  5th graders created a one-point perspective city drawing and 6th graders created one-point perspective aquarium drawings.

Thiebaud inspired Dessert Drawings!

These two videos introduce/review the artist Wayne Thiebaud to my 3rd and 4th graders and shows step by step to create yummy desserts inspired by Thiebaud!

Neurographic Art

Great lesson that helps students create abstract artwork and create organic shapes! Great lesson for 6th-8th graders.

Op-Art

Optical illusions are a fun to create and it always makes students excited! Below are a few examples I used with my students, the first is practicing show different shapes and the bottom one shows the process my 5th graders used!

Cacti Painting

This was a fun 5th grade lesson!  Students learned about the history of the Aztecs and the symbolize of the cacti in Mexican culture.

Romero Britto Drawings

These two videos give a quick introduction to pop-artist Romero Britto for elementary students and how to create a pop-art animal drawing using bold lines and bright colors like Britto!

Valentines Day Inspired Drawings

Fun drawings for 1st and 2nd graders to learn about Pablo Picasso and Keith Haring that are fun to do around around Valentines day or can be modified or done without the connection to Valentines day!

Tulip Landscape Drawing

Fun lesson to introduce one-point perspective to 4th graders!  

Proportion Mannequin Drawing

These two videos I used to help teach 6th-8th graders the proportions of the human figure!  The first video explains the definition and how to keep the figure proportionate when drawing, the second video shows the final steps for the drawing created.

Value Drawing

Fun lesson to introduce 2nd graders to the element of art value! Students learned about contemporary artist Maria Davis, value and how to create tints and shades. Students also enjoyed the scratch garden value song!
